Abundant Hope Therapy is pleased to offer: Not Just in Their Head: Befriending Anger: the Connection Between the Uterus, Liver and Hormones

The presenter will utilize lectures, discussions, videos, and case studies to support the learning objectives and facilitate learning.

This 3-hour continuing education program is designed for licensed professional counselors and mental health clinicians seeking to deepen their understanding of the relationship between emotional processes, organ systems, and hormonal regulation—specifically focusing on the liver, anger responses, and uterine/hormonal health.

Drawing from psychophysiology, somatic psychology, trauma-informed care, and integrative health frameworks, this training explores how dysregulation in emotional processing (particularly anger) can manifest physiologically and influence liver function, hormonal balance, and reproductive health.

Participants will learn practical, evidence-informed interventions to support emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and embodied awareness in clients. The program emphasizes accessible clinical tools, client-friendly language, and ethically grounded integration of mind-body approaches.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the physiological functions of the liver and its role in stress response and detoxification.

  • Explain the relationship between anger, emotional suppression, and physiological dysregulation.

  • Describe the connection between chronic stress, hormonal imbalance, and uterine health.

  • Recognize somatic presentations of emotional dysregulation related to liver and hormonal systems.

  • Apply at least three somatic or cognitive interventions to support emotional processing and regulation.

  • Integrate trauma-informed, body-based awareness techniques into clinical practice ethically and effectively.

  • Utilize simple client reminders and practices to foster ongoing mind-body connection.
