I Like Who I Am Becoming: Applying the Post-traumatic Growth Framework with Clients (11/20/26, Virtual, 3 CEs)

from $62.10

Abundant Hope Therapy is pleased to virtually offer: Post-Traumatic Growth: "I Like Who I Am Becoming": Applying the Post-traumatic Growth Framework with Clients

The presenter will utilize lectures, discussions, break out groups, videos, and case studies to support the learning objectives and facilitate learning.

This training introduces clinicians to the post-traumatic growth (PTG) framework, an evidence-informed approach that explores how individuals may experience positive psychological change following adversity. While trauma often results in distress and disruption, many survivors also report increased personal strength, deeper relational capacity, expanded perspectives on life, and enhanced meaning-making. Through case examples and applied interventions, participants will develop skills to help clients process trauma narratives, identify emerging strengths, and integrate experiences into a coherent and empowered sense of self. The training will differentiate post-traumatic growth from resilience and post-traumatic stress, emphasizing the importance of avoiding toxic positivity or premature reframing. Teaching will include lecture, discussion, and experiential activities.

Learning Objectives

1. Differentiate post-traumatic growth from resilience and post-traumatic stress using current theoretical frameworks.

2. Identify at least five domains of post-traumatic growth and how they may present clinically.

3. Describe the cognitive and emotional processes that facilitate meaning-making after trauma.

4. Apply at least three trauma-informed interventions that support clients in exploring post-traumatic growth.

5. Evaluate ethical considerations in introducing post-traumatic growth concepts, including risks of invalidation or premature reframing.

Cost

  • $90 Regular Rate (after 10/15)

  • $80 Early Bird Rate (before 10/15)
