This 3-hour interactive lecture training is designed for counseling supervisors who want to strengthen their supervision through a trauma-informed and reflective approach. Participants will explore how trauma—both client-related and systemic—impacts counselors, supervisory relationships, and clinical work, and how reflective supervision can support safety, growth, and resilience.

Supervisors will review core principles of trauma-informed care and learn how to integrate them into supervisory structure, communication, and feedback. The training also addresses and the supervisor’s role in supporting regulation and reflective capacity within the supervisory relationship.

This training is ideal for new and experienced counseling supervisors who want to foster supportive, ethical, and trauma-responsive supervision practices.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the foundations of reflective supervision and trauma-informed care

  • Identify how trauma exposure can impact supervisees and supervision relationships

  • Apply trauma-informed principles to supervisory structure, communication, and feedback

  • Utilize reflective strategies to support supervisee self-awareness, regulation, and clinical effectiveness

CE Credit Available:  3 CE hrs. Abundant Hope Therapy has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7477. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Abundant Hope Therapy is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

About the Presenter: Alexine Batts, LPC/MHSP-S, NCC, PMH-C is passionate about supporting clients through complex trauma and the many twists and turns of the perinatal journey—from pre-conception through those sleep-deprived early parenting years. With certifications in EMDR and perinatal mental health, she brings an evidence-based, culturally humble, and open and affirming approach; walking alongside clients as they process complex trauma, grieve through loss or unexpected challenges and the numerous surprises of the perinatal period. Alexine is always honored to make space for any anxious inner children ready to be seen and heard when present challenges stir up old, but still familiar, hurts. Beyond her clinical work, she loves fostering learning and professional growth, making training fun, engaging, and often with more information than anyone asked for! As an Approved Clinical Supervisor, she comes from the framework of trauma-informed reflective supervision focused on professional growth, ethical practice, and counselor wellness. 

Materials: All registered participants will receive the seminar materials via and any other important information via email, approximately 3 days before the training.
